Who we are

Never Have I Had the Urge is a storytelling podcast about the moments that test us — the urges we resist, the ones we give into, and the quiet decisions that shape who we become.

Each episode focuses on a single urge.
Not the dramatic kind you see coming — but the subtle ones that show up when no one’s watching. The kind that lives between thought and action. Between fear and courage. Between staying safe and taking the leap.

This podcast is about choice.
And what happens when you pause long enough to listen to yourself.

Why This Podcast Exists

I didn’t start this podcast because I had answers.
I started it because I had questions.

Questions about why we do what we do.
Why certain moments stay with us long after they pass.
Why some urges feel harmless… and others feel dangerous — even when they don’t look like it on the surface.

Over time, I realized that many of the most important decisions in life don’t announce themselves.
They arrive quietly.
They sit with us.
And they ask one simple question:

What are you going to do right now?

This podcast is my way of slowing those moments down and looking at them honestly.

What You’ll Hear Here

Each episode is a personal reflection — sometimes drawn from my own life, sometimes inspired by the world around us — but always centered on a single moment of choice.

You’ll hear stories about:

  • Risk and hesitation

  • Temptation and impulse

  • Fear, belief, and survival

  • The urge to act… and the urge to walk away

These aren’t lessons.
They’re reflections.

No preaching. No answers handed to you.
Just stories meant to leave space for your own.

Why the Name Matters

The phrase “Never have I had the urge…” sounds definitive.
Almost defensive.

But that’s the point.

Because most of us say it right up until the moment we don’t.

This podcast lives in that space — right before the sentence changes.

Who This Podcast Is For

This podcast is for anyone who’s ever:

  • Stood at a crossroads and hesitated

  • Wondered how close they came to making a different choice

  • Looked back and thought, what if?

  • Or felt an urge they couldn’t fully explain

If you’ve ever paused before acting — even for a second — you’re in the right place.

A Final Thought

Behind every want…
there’s an urge.
Behind every urge…
there’s a need.

This podcast doesn’t tell you what to think.
It just invites you to listen.
